I doubt it's a Marine. That looks
like a contractor's sticker to me.
Unfortunately, the Red bar on the
bottom signifies Active Duty Enlisted (I don't remeber which grade span either E1-5 or
E6-9; or somethign like that).
I cna't make it out too well, but the Red bar seems to start with the word Fort, which
would imply an Army Post... but that really may not correspond to the ..ahem...individual.

Nope, it's red. That means the van
is registered to an Enlisted service member. Officers have a blue sticker, and civilians
have green and contractors have white. Cite here. The Navy, btw, does not use the gold sticker for
Noncommissioned officers. They issue a rank sticker(E-5 for example) to be placed on the
back of the rearview mirror.

Dangit! I looked out the back door
of the office at the nearest car to the door and it had a RED BAR! I knew I should have
walked around the corner, but I didn't want to have the smokers ask what I was looking
for.
I apologize for my rotten research method.
Edited to bang my head against a brick wall.

Judah, do you get a discount at

Eurm, unless I'm missing
something, the general consensus (or at least, a popular view) seems to be that Kyoko made
up outrageous stories to get attention. And this is bad.

Probably because of the type of
replies. There was no sympathy here, which was what her previous cries for attention got
her. It's far less rewarding when the replies to her cry for attention are "See ya,
didn't really like you anyhow, don't let the door hit you on the way out."
And come on, replies are expected. This thread was the elephant in the living room that we
couldn't ignore.

True; however, utter apathy would
probably have been more stinging than anything else, and most likely would have been a
more potent way of dissuading her from behaving the same way in the future. Sometimes any
attention is good attention, at least in the eyes of the one seeking it.

"And that First of Two! What an evil, obnoxious bastard!"
Thank you kindly.
Pogue has stated that I'm on his rant list, and while this is good to know, and while I
expect I've made at least two others, I was really hoping I'd had a little more of an
impact than that.
Guess I'll have to try harder. I want to be on at least a dozen Flameout lists by the end
of February.

At the beginning, there was a law
of the threads that said: "Thou shalt not feed the trolls." And it was good.
Then, there cometh a poster that insulted everyone. And there was much wondering and
"WTF?", until the people realized that it was a troll. So, there cometh a new
law to replace the old one, that states: "Thou shalt not feed the trolls, but thou
mayeth make fun of them." And the people made fun of the troll, and there was much
rejoicing.
Or something to that effect.

Jona " " than.
Namely, the response the person
wants is capitulation and grovelling on the other side. We were wrong, you were right, no
no, don't leave, yes yes, you're the wounded party, we're the bad guy, blah blah ad
nauseum.
Instead, she gets nearly 11 pages of people saying Good Riddance and commenting on how
disliked she really was or how her posts were ignored... my favorite was Christie saying
"I know her name..." then writing "kyoto" instead of Kyoko. Hee.
If she can't post and is bothering to read it, that's likely infuriating. If not or she's
pulling rabbits out of her hat to just get a rise out of us, it worked and it was amusing
gossip, none the less.
I don't particularily care if she gets attention at this point or not. She can have as
much as she wants, since, I doubt she'll be allowed back anyway, so it doesn't do her any
good anyway.
