On a serious note, I sent her a message apologizing for being so dismissive. However, I
also told her that her opinions in no way "deserve" any more respect than they

paranoid about the whole witch-hunt accusations and everything, but... Hand on heart, it
wasn't about Kyo, it was about my mother (if it was "about" anyone at all
that is). But it was inspired by Kyo, that's true (sorry Kyo if you're still reading, I
really don't have any nasty thoughts about you or wish you any evil). I read a few stories
that reminded me of the sorts of exaggerations my mother might come up with, and so I
posted -- it was genuine curiosity about what other people have experienced, not an
attempt to have a "dig" -- and also wondering if the right thing to do is to say
something privately to the person, or if it's better just to ignore it.

At any rate, I do think I know why I merited inclusing in the list in the OP. Early on I
butted heads with Kyoko in a couple of threads. I was so frustrated about it I just
stopped responding to any of her posts after that. I actually thought things had improved
because in a thread more recently she said something along the lines of 'we're had our
differences in the past but I really agree with what you're saying here'. *shrug*
(ETA: I do have to say I'm a bit touched by the responses others have had to my name being
in there. I guess my 'posted on a bad day when I'm in a bitchy mood' and incoherant posts
haven't been as bad as I think they are. )

Maybe my long absence from the boards has fiddled with my memories, but I don't remember
seeing as much profanity or personal attacks in the past as I've seen since returning to
my old haunt. I remember when practically every swear word was masked by NFBSK. Heck, I
remember when the NFBSK thing started in the first place. What the heck happened?
Seriously, the boards here seem to have dipped a bit into vulgar territory. I'm not a
prude or anything, but I was a bit shocked at the casual profanity I was seeing in some
posts. I don't remember that being the case at all back when I was posting regularly ages
ago.
I don't mean to say that Kyo was a ringleader in vulgar posts or anything, but I did
recognize that sort of mentality in several of her messages. Has this just become more
common these days? Maybe I just missed the whole transition period, which would explain
why it is such a shock to me now. I'm used to people being a touch silly and irreverent,
with perhaps a rare slip into being rude, not the other way around.
