Heh, just because I feel I need to
give credit where credit is due: "Evil Bitchmonster from Hell" isn't an original
line. It's from Buffy, season 4. It's what the students call Professor Walsh behind her
back.

Noemi...I've never had any problem with her, at all! She's always been one of the (what I
call) good snopesters! Polite, etc!
And Jenn? Geez, give me a break. If anyone is the evil bitch, it should be me! After all,
I've worked hard to earn that name-just ask anyone over at the Forum of Eternal life (if
some of you don't know/remember, I was banned from that website over 5 times)! But
overhere, I tend to be way more laid back thanks to a tongue lashing that Megaira gave me
when I first posted, as I wasn't the most polite person.
And, y'all need to stop with the jokes! Most of you already owe me at least one keyboard!

To be honest, I can't recall a
single post of the OP writer's.
edit: looked up some posts. Almost all political, of what persuasion I neither know nor
care, by the titles of them. Since politics leads in me to either tears or panic attacks,
I can see why I might have missed this person.

I can, but only after reading the
threads that are referred to on this thread. Otherwise, I couldn't even remember who the
OP's writer was.
But, there are few names that I remember. Yours, Silas, Megaira, Brad from Georgia etc. I
guess it's basically the posters that I just enjoy reading the posts. Kyo's...I just never
read.

Well, that explains a lot. There
are posters here that are younger than you that can put forth a more well reasoned

also a good reason for the pile-on
perhaps to cease. sometimes we encounter people here who may allow some very scary
personal demons to emerge in their posts. these individuals may be on the borders of
coping. i'd hate to see us drive someone who is a teenager and obviously troubled over the
edge.

Does this mean we're not going to
get any more posts going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
about what a slut/talentless bimbo/whore/waste of air Britney/Christina/J-Lo is? Aw, damn.
I'm really going to miss those ones.
Actually, I was beginning to think there was a classic case of "I HATE Britney, no
really, I really do HATE her - REALLY hate her, I mean...not just hate but HATE her (I
secretly adore her and want to have her babies)" going on there.
I think meanjelly got it just right. Huzzah!

Then all the more reason for them
to seek solace with a professional trained therpaist - not posters from a messageboard who
offer advice.

I've just read through the threads
that were linked to, on this thread, and I'm still with the WTF crowd. I see
nothing that stands out as worthy of the type of attack posted in the OP.
Good riddance, indeed.

remember when the NFBSK thing started in the first place. What the heck happened?
I noticed that when I came back
too. But what it seems to be (from what I've noticed) is mainly newbies who are still
getting used to "fitting in". Most of the time the ones that stick around for
the duration settle down in terms of the profanity and use it sparingly. Possibly,
as with Kyo, they are warned when/if it gets out of hand? As for the personal attacks,
again I think if you really look you'll find its only a few people doing it really. Or at
least only a few people who do it an awful lot.

Nothing official, but if I see
something like that I do try to send an email or private message, and sometimes I post it
in the thread (depends on the situation and what's already been said), especially if it's
something that's obviously rubbing people the wrong way or likely to cause a flame war.

Not one to feed the flames or
anything. I just wanted to say that I can't imagine anyone saying a nasty word about
Noemi. What in the heck has she ever done to anyone? Seriously. She's one of the kindest
snopesters around. Even if she disagrees, I don't think I've ever seen a hint of attitude
from her.
If you think Noemi is a bad person then I think a message board is the least of your
problems.
ETA: This is not to say I agree with what she said about everyone else. I think all you guys rock *grin*

I heartily agree that Barbara, snopes and Jenn are ace, and they are definitely ace mods
at that.
Even when we are disagreeing, I have to say, yeah, it has hardly ever been nasty. I have
been told off in the earlier days for stuff I did that I wasn't sure about (etiquette,
that sort of thing), or I really fouled up by quoting opinion as fact. I soon learned, and
pulled my socks up.
On the whole, things are mostly respectful and considerate, on here. nastiness is the
exception rather tahn the rule.

Okay, I offer this information up as background/for amusement value. In no way am I trying
to defend myself here (Holly, you're a sweetie, but I in no way feel the need to defend
myself from this stuff).
I, it seems like many others, was only vaguely aware of Kyoko. I became aware of her
through her posting of one thread about her cats dying which I considered to be highly
unlikely, especially the follow-up (actually, I'm not even 100% sure that was her. I hope
I haven't just put my foot in it with someone). I kept schtum on-board, just in case I was
wrong, and got on with my life, but that's when I actually noticed her. Fast forward a
while and there was a discussion about Buffy. Kyoko said something in the usual OTT
way about how it was the worst programme ever, and I pointed out that if she was talking
about things that Spike did in the programme then she clearly hadn't watched it in very
long.
Cue a long and hate-filled PM about how much she hates people who hate Buffy, and how her
friends force her to watch it at gunpoint, and how much Britaney Spears is an evil slut,
and how dare perople call Kyoko a slut, and why am I always belittleing her and calling
her stupid, and so on. Bear in mind that this is about 2 posts in to the only conversation
I can remember ever having had with the girl. Anyway, I reply basically saying
"Uh?" and ask her not to pin her hang-ups about how other people may or may not
treat her on me. Cue another long-winded tirade about how awful a person I am, and how the
only way she can cope with being on the same board as me is by not posting to threads that
I've posted in, accompanied by being put on her "Ignore" list.
"That's all fine and dandy", thinks I, and from that moment forth I have not
replied or taken much notice of anything Kyoko said. In other words, I returned to the
state that I was in before said Buffy discussion. Until the aforementioned Simon
Cowell discussion.
So, ladies and gentlemen, that is what I did to earn the wrath of Kyoko, I told her that
in my opinion Series 5 of Buffy was the best and suggested that she might surprise
herself by liking it if she watched it, and I said to someone else that I thought that, on
the whole, Simon Cowell wasn't the spawn of Satan. Oh, and refused to take the rap for
people that she knows in real life calling her names.
See Judah? You need to brush up on your pop culture to get a mention. I wonder what kind
of treatment I'd have got if I'd have called her a liar in the "cats" thread?
And now that she's gone, I'll go back to doing what I always do, and still not give
a shit one way or the other.

You know, they tell you to never hit a man with a closed fist but it is, on occasion,
hilarious.

Just to reassure you that you
haven't put your foot in it, that was Kyoko.

Kyo I think you need to take a few deep breaths and maybe cut back a bit on your caffeine
intake.
I have only been visiting this board for a short time but I find a lot of funny and
informative posts here, and I have never felt invisible or unwelcome (unlike a few other
message boards I've been to).
